Parkersburg Wood County Neighborhood Watch Co-op Meeting

The Parkersburg/Wood County Neighborhood Watch Co-op meeting will be 6:00 pm on Thursday, May 9, 2018 at the Parkersburg City Building, 1 Government Square [MAP]. At this meeting we will have discussion and updates on newly-assigned Watch Groups and the Parkersburg Police Department’s fight against crime. The guest speaker for this meeting will be a representative of the Americah Red Cross.

Representatives from the Parkersburg City Police and the Wood County Sheriff’s Department will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have for your area. The Neighborhood Watch Co-op will be available to assist in the establishment of a Watch Group or to record issues of crime in your area for law enforcement. If you are a concerned citizen and your neighborhood is experiencing crime, this is the meeting you need to attend. Bring any information you may have on crime situations in your area to be able to share with our local law enforcement agencies.

Any questions concerning this meeting or the Neighborhood Watch Co-op may be directed to JB Campbell, President, at (304) 482-3300.

Beware of the Imitation

There is an individual in Parkersburg who wants to start his own competing version of Neighborhood Watch and charge a “user fee” for each Watch Group. He has not been authorized by either the city or the county to do so. If you are approached by any individual who tells that you are not permitted to walk patrol in your neighborhood without paying his fee, do not argue with him in any way. Simply continue on your patrol and file an Incident Report with your Watch Captain, who will forward it to the Co-op President for reporting to the police department.
