Over the past five or six years I have
received numerous contacts from people in southeastern Ohio and from
virtually all over the state of West Virginia asking about local
opportunities for Messianic fellowship. At the present time, the two
closest Messianic congregations I know about are in Columbus and Canton,
Ohio, and for weekly fellowship this is simply too great a distance to
travel for most of the people I have talked to.
While it does not appear that enough local
interest can be generated (at least for the present time) to have a
functioning Messianic congregation in the Parkersburg (West Virginia)
area, it may very well be possible that together we can develop sufficient
interest to put together a monthly or quarterly get-together for food,
fellowship, and Torah study. What is too great a distance to travel for
weekly fellowship may actually be considered reasonable for once a month
or once a quarter.
