inSpeak

"inSpeak" is a chat program with improved stereo audio, more text options for size, color and font style, and animated emoticons. Just click on the inSpeak logo above and follow the instructions on their website to download the program, or use the direct link in step1 in the right-hand column of this page.

After you have installed the basic inSpeak program, you will need to upgrade to the most current version here.

FOR THOSE COMPUTERS USING THE WINDOWS VISTA OPERATING SYSTEM: After installing inSpeak, you may need to run in XP mode (I don't). To do that, right-click on inSpeak icon on the desktop > Choose compatibility > put a check mark in: "run this program > XP sp2", then login in the normal manner.

How to Access CTOMC Chat

BE SURE TO HAVE

1. Log on to your inSpeak account. If you don't have inSpeak installed, use THIS LINK

Note

If you have a Hebrew name, please use it for your InSpeak UserName.  If you do not have a Hebrew name, see My-Hebrew-Name.com for a list of suggestions.

2. Click on the Groups icon (three little faces immediately left of the gold star)

3. Scroll down the list of groups to Sensitive: Messianic Believers

4. On the next drop-down list: Go to any room that starts with CTOMC, or find what CTOMC room has the most users logged in.

5. Click on the room, click on "Join"

6. Enjoy!

By the way, you can use inSpeak for “regular” instant messaging when the CTOMC rooms are closed.

7:00 a.m. CTOMC Mishpocha & Friends room. Room opens at 7:00 for hanging out and visiting.

7:30 a.m. CTOMC Mishpocha & Friends room features the "Boker Ohr" or "Morning Light" show with MRav Avner Solomon heard most weekday mornings. We are currently listening to the series "Let's Get Truthful," rebutting the "anti-missionaries."

During the day you can come in and chat with other believers or just "hang out" and listen to music and teaching courtesy of Messianic radio stations like
SoundsOfShalom.com and WSTW.fm, and/or other ad hoc teaching (either live or pre-recorded from various teachers).

At various times, there is teaching by MRav Avner Solomon, president of the Coalition of Torah Observant Messianic Congregations and rabbi of Congregation Ner Tamid in Halifax, Nova Scotia; MRav Yosef Boleware of Beit Lechem in Jackson, Mississippi; MMin Andrew Ketel of Beit Mashiach in Edmonton, Alberta; MRav Adam Bernay of Beit Tefillah in Fresno, California; MMin Tamar Yeomans of Beit Gan-Eden in Queensland, Australia; MRav Gabe Simkin of Mishkan David in Lauderhill, Florida; MRoeh Mark McLellan of Kehilat T'nuvah in Thornton, Colorado; and Rebbitzin Leah Solomon of Congregation Ner Tamid in Nova Scotia. We also have taped teaching from many well-known leaders in the Messianic movement.

Sunday

8:00 a.m. MMin (Messianic Minister) Robin Armstrong of Eitz Chayim Messianic Outreach in Melfa, Virginia

2:00 p.m. MMin Robin Armstrong of Eitz Chayim Messianic Outreach in Melfa, Virginia. This is a LIVE phone-in show and you can call-in with your questions and comments.

________ MMin Robin's teaching is followed by the Shabbat mincha service pre-recorded from Beit Tefillah Messianic Fellowship in Fresno, California.

CTOMC Chat now has weekly Hebrew classes every Sunday evening. Your facilitator is MRav Avner (RebAvner) Solomon of Halifax, Nova Scotia.

6:30 p.m. LIVE interactive "Learn to Read Hebrew" class. The Hebrew language evening begins with a one hour beginners reading class. At the end of the 12 week series, you will be able to read Bereshit (Genesis) chapter one in Hebrew!

7:30 p.m. The Pimsleur Conversational Hebrew Class, 30 minutes of conversational Hebrew and an intermediate reading class. You are also invited to join our email group at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/CTOMC_HebrewLessons/. If you have any questions or suggestions as to an additional day during the week to repeat the class, send an email to RebAvner with your ideas.

8:00 p.m. Following the Hebrew classes, CTOMC presents "Liturgy 101." During this time you will learn the liturgy of the synagogue service and also the blessings and prayers recited at home when ushering in the Sabbath with your family. Rabbi Avner is a very patient teacher and will have you davening like you were born into it (well, almost) in no time.

Monday

7:30 p.m. MMinA Joseph Gilpatric of Ner Tamid Messianic Fellowship, Oxford, Maine is conducting an in-depth study of Psalm 119. This promises to be a nearly year-long study, as the psalm is divided into 22 sections, one for each letter of the Hebrew AlefBet, and each section takes two to three weeks to cover thoroughly.

8:30 p.m. Beginning in November, in the CTOMC Messianic Torah Based Studies room room, you can study "Yeshua in the Torah" with Rabbi Jack Farber of Congregation Melech Yisrael in Toronto, Ontario.

________ Following the study, join MRav Adam Bernay and the Temple-Builders weight loss support group.

Tuesday

7:30 p.m. "The Jewishness of the Gospels" in the CTOMC Messianic Torah Based Studies room, hosted by MMin Warren Nyack of Beit Mashiach Messianic Fellowship in Williams Lake, British Columbia.

________ This is followed by "Torah Time" with Rabbi Marty Cohen of Metroplex Messianic Fellowship in Euless, Texas. Rabbi Marty is best known for his MessianicMessages.com website.

Wednesday

7:30 p.m. Live "virtual" midweek worship service featuring the weeks Parashah (Torah portion) in the CTOMC Messianic Torah Based Studies room. Traditional worship liturgy, reading of the portions, brief midrash (commentary) on the text, followed by informal fellowship. Led and taught by MRav Avner Solomon of Congregation Ner Tamid, Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Thursday

8:00 p.m. Torah Study with MMin Andrew Ketel of Congregation Beit Mashiach and Gesher Ministries in Edmonton, Alberta.

Erev Shabbat - Friday evening

7:00 p.m. Candle lighting and fellowship

7:30 p.m. Erev Shabbat Service streamed LIVE from Congregation Melech Yisrael in Toronto, Ontario in the CTOMC Torah Observant Messianic Believers room.

________ Following the Erev Shabbat service, we have the best fellowship time on the internet as we partake in "Oneg Shabbat - Delight in the Sabbath." During this time of music and fun, if you are a new participant in the group you will have an opportunity to participate in a call-in contest. Rabbi Avner hosts the two hour program which can go for as long as you (and he) want to stay up. Oneg time includes "DA ZONE" and if you've never been part of it, all we can say is, You have to be there to experience it! So, "Be there or be square!" Parody songs ("oldies" with Messianic lyrics), contests, and more.

Shabbat 

8:00 a.m. Pre-service fellowship in the CTOMC Torah Observant Messianic Believers room. Chat, visit, music. Bring your own coffee and donuts (because they are really hard to email or send via file transfers.)

9:45 a.m. LIVE Shabbat service streamed from Congregation Ner Tamid in Halifax, Nova Scotia with MRav Avner Solomon.

________ Following the Ner Tamid service we join the LIVE service already in progress at Metroplex Messianic Fellowship in Euless, Texas with MRav Marty Cohen.

________ After the service from Texas, we join the LIVE service in progress from Congregation Melech Yisrael in Toronto, Ontario with MRav Jack Farber.

________ Then it's off to the land down-under and Beit Gan-Eden Messianic Community located on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.

________ After Shabbat, join Rabbi Avner Solomon of Congregation Ner Tamid in Halifax, Nova Scotia as he hosts a Motzei Shabbat "Virtual Farbrengen", a time of music, stories and fellowship where you can hear readings from Rabbi Shlomo Carlbach's "Stories of the Lamed Vav" and songs and stories from those in the room.
